NEW FIELD OPENS!

On Wednesday, September 9, 2009 the Patti Falotico and Maureen Ross Athletic Field opened. We asked sixth grade student Olivia Wilinski her thoughts about the new field. She answered, "I think it would be helpful for the people who play sports."

After about 30 years of hard work for this school, Mrs. Falotico and Miss Ross finally got their wish. They got a new place for the students to play and new field to teach at.

We asked Mrs. Falotico her thoughts about the new field, and she said that she was very excited. She said that it was nice to have a field that was flat, nice, and close to the school. She also said it was one of the most awesome suprises of her life.

Louise "Lea" Gilbert expressed her feelings by saying, "I would rather them not cut down trees just to plant grass. I'd rather have trees than grass! After I saw the field though, I changed my own personal opinion on it." Many other students felt that same way about the loss of trees, but as Lea said, it turned out pretty good.

DEDICATION

This month's dedication goes to Mrs.Kyzer, the school Enrichment Teacher. We interviewed her and she told us, "I really enjoy teaching Enrichment. I can be creative and Enrichment can really bring out the creative side of my students."

She also said when asked about CT Monthly newspaper, "Well in high school and college, I worked for the newspaper and I use those skills all the time. So I think you will really enjoy it."

DEAR CAROL

Dear Carol is the advice column of this newspaper. We are sorry, but we do not have any Dear Carol letters this month. Please submit your letters to the CT Monthly box outside Mrs. Kyzer's room. The letters should include your problem and be signed with something like: "Scared and Afraid," or,"Lonely and Clueless." This way "Carol" knows who to write to. Do not include your actual name or any other persons' name. Thank you! J
